This application focuses on tree works to the north-western boundary of the Ensleigh housing development, situated within the Bath World Heritage Site and the indicative landscape setting of the Bath conservation area and landscape setting of the World Heritage Site.

The use of trees along the northern corner boundary of the site is significant in helping to soften the appearance of development from external views to the north and west as part of Bath’s wider landscape setting. The use of trees to mitigate the visual impact of development on the character and appearance of its rural setting should be reinforced. We maintain the need to consider a programme of suitable tree maintenance and replanting along this boundary where necessary as part of the long-term retention of this tree belt.
