Bath Preservation Trust’s Comments on Revised ‘Bath Quays North’ Development Plans

October 2, 2020Bath Preservation TrustBath Quays, Consultations, Major development site, News, World Heritage Site

The Trust’s updated comments on revisions to the Bath Quay North outline application for the redevelopment of the Avon Street Car Park site. Proposals include:

  • Increased maximum building heights mitigated by setting back massing of upper storey levels away from building perimeters.
  • The widening of public realm spaces and routes through the site, with the introduction of Little Somerset Yard as a natural gathering point.
  • Distinction between formal frontages along the riverside and Avon Street, and informal facades within the development.
  • Activated roofscape incorporating accessible space, planting, and microrenewables.
