In response to the Climate Emergency, BPT is supportive of the provision of EV charging bays on the existing garage site, where this would be in keeping with the character and appearance of this part of the London Road streetscape. The provision of publicly-accessible EV charging on the main road network is welcomed.

Where we recognise the existing brightness of London Road as a key, well-lit thoroughfare into the city centre, we do have some questions regarding the provision of two new floodlights on the site. These would not be any taller than the existing forecourt canopy. We maintain the importance of securing further details such as light brightness and hours of use in accordance with the wider lighting arrangements both on the garage site as existing, and the wider streetscape.
