BPT does not typically comment on proposed internal works without the benefit of a site visit. However, we note that the proposed works include works to “form new opening within masonry wall and make good to all surfaces where disturbed” between the proposed living room and kitchen at ground floor level (currently in use as bedrooms). Considering the Grade I status of the building, we emphasise the need for further assessment of the existing interior and any historic features or detailing, as well as consideration of the possible historic and evidential value of historic fabric, where this has not been clarified as part of the submitted Heritage Statement. We therefore strongly encourage further details are provided to adequately justify the proposed works.
