Our Response

Courtside is an unlisted late 20th century dwelling situated within the Bath conservation area and World Heritage Site. Its garden setting forms part of the attractive streetscape of Richmond Road, largely characterised by unbroken stretches of coursed rubble stone boundary walls and hedgerow and tree planting. This is briefly punctuated in places with green open spaces including Richmond Green and St Stephen’s Millennium Green. Courtside reinforces the pattern and grain of its surroundings with its built form set back within its garden boundary and partially screened from the street on its south-western corner.

We note the lack of a map or location plan indicating the trees that are the subject of this application and as such it is difficult to assess the impact of proposals. We consider that further information is required as to the current location of the total of seven trees proposed for felling and how this may affect the wider appearance and character of the streetscape.
