Comment: This scheme appears badly out of character with this fairly spacious part of Upper Weston; it necessitates breaching the building line in Napier Road with a pair of semi-detached houses very close to the pavement and with minimal outdoor amenity space. In any case, the application as it stands is substandard in terms of detail and information. There is no Design & Access Statement, and we would expect, for a development of this size, to see contextual elevations and 3D renders to show how the proposed buildings would sit within the site, the streetscene and the wider surrounding area. The site sits on a slope and is visible from the Green Belt; some assessment of visual impact should accompany the application to ensure the scheme assimilates well with its context.
