Whilst we do not have an objection to the proposed 3 storey addition to this villa, we question whether the proposed design of the roof area is the best solution to the finishing of the addition. Looking at the other side of the pair, the addition of this extension would balance the pair symmetrically, which is welcomed, but the flat parapet roof seems unresolved in roofscape terms. Whilst it does not appear to be possible to add a hipped roof to match the other side, we wonder whether further design work could go some way remedying this awkwardness.

In addition this application description is incorrect, as the existing extension is currently one storey not three.
