23 High Street, Upper Weston, Bath

23 High Street forms part of a Grade II section of early 19th century terraced buildings at 23-25 High Street, situated within the Bath conservation area and World Heritage Site.

We note that this application is a resubmission of 19/03659/LBA, and appears to be the same with regards to the proposed scale and design of proposals. We therefore maintain our original comments as follows:

“BPT has concerns about this proposal. The proposed building seems to be over-development/’shoehorning’ of the site that will have a detrimental effect on the setting of the listed building and the character of the conservation area. We question the issue of the lack of amenity space for the proposed flats, and the dominance and overbearing impact of the development on the listed cottage (already incongruously overdeveloped itself).”
