14 Gay Street, Bath
14 Gay Street forms part of a Grade I Georgian terrace situated within the core of the Bath conservation area and World Heritage site. It forms part of the indicative streetscape setting of monumental Grade I examples of Georgian town planning and architecture such as Queen Square and the Circus.
Considering the building’s Grade I status, we are surprised at the lack of information provided regarding the proposed works. In particular, we would recommend that the proposed works to the rear façade windows to “add Georgian glazing bars to rear windows” are clarified. It is consequently unclear as to whether new frames and fenestration would be installed, or whether glazing bars would be applied/‘added’ to the existing glazing. We would additionally suggest that existing and proposed window details are submitted to the LPA to clarify this matter before the application progresses further.
