Comfort Inn, 27-29 Henrietta Street, Bath

27-29 Henrietta Street form a group of Grade I Georgian terraced houses, now a hotel, situated within the Bath conservation area and World Heritage site. Their regular, symmetrical facades contribute to the architectural consistency and aesthetic merit of the area, and therefore their appearance should be maintained and enhanced where possible.

BPT does not condone works that may alter or impact the architectural or historic interest of a listed building without the appropriate listed building consent.

Furthermore, we do not feel that the information submitted as part of this application is sufficient to assess the impact on the significance of a Grade I listed building. We feel the inclusion of roof plans would better outline the proposed works. We are surprised that this application has been validated without a D&A Statement, or the provision of an adequate description of works, and therefore the LPA cannot properly assess the impact. We would recommend that a D&A Statement is required to be submitted before this application can progress further.
