External alterations to include enlargement of an existing gated opening through boundary wall, installation of new gate and erection of a car port canopy.
Our Response Should the principle of enlargement works be considered acceptable by the local planning authority, we note that there could be a positive opportunity for improvement works to the existing opening, such as the replacement of the existing reconstituted stone lintel with an alternative in natural stone. This would be more visually in keeping with the subdued material and colour palette of the existing boundary wall. Where a recon/cast stone lintel may be considered more structurally appropriate, we emphasise the need for a complementary colour match and finish to match the existing stonework as closely as possible.
