Our Response

This application concerns 7 & 7A Broad Street, a pair of Grade II late Georgian shops with accommodation over situated within the Bath conservation area and World Heritage site, along the commercial streets running into the city centre. This application will only affect 1 Milsom Apartments.

The Trust has no comments on the proposed change of use. However, we would emphasise that despite the application stating no proposed material changes, any internal or external changes to the fabric or appearance of the building that arise from this change of use will require the submission of a relevant LBA to assess the impact to a Grade II listed building.

We would note that application 13/04350/LBA for internal alterations to the kitchen space and third bedroom appears to have exceeded its three year validity without works having started, based on the current plans submitted as part of this application.
