Our Response
9 Great Pulteney Street forms part of the Grade I Georgian terrace situated in the Bath conservation area and World Heritage site. Due to the terrace’s architectural homogeneity, scale, and the intentionally designed sightlines between the Holburne Museum and Great Pulteney Bridge, Great Pulteney Street constitutes an exceptional example of Georgian Town Planning and Georgian Architecture which contribute towards the OUV of the World Heritage site.
We have no concerns regarding the repainting of the front door, but we would encourage a matte paint finish to be utilised to ensure a more traditional appearance to enhance the façade of a listed building, and the wider aesthetic character of the conservation area.
