This small and supportive group was created to benefit a wide range of people, including those who are in recovery from, or experiencing, mental health challenges. The sessions give participants the opportunity to explore their local natural and built environment by foot, learning basic digital photography skills along the way. No previous experience is necessary and digital cameras are provided if participants do not have their own.
Sessions are led by a skilled photographer and also include time indoors to discuss images and techniques, take part in group activities and view/edit photos. There is usually then the chance for participants to exhibit their work at the end of the course.
For example in 2018 participants spent six weeks with Bath Preservation Trust exploring our 2018 theme of Women and Protest in Bath and producing photos in response to the local suffragette story. These images are currently on display in the Servants Hall at No.1 Royal Crescent, examples of which are displayed on this page.
