Flat 8, 30 The Paragon, Walcot, Bath, Bath and North-East Somerset, BA1 5LY.
External alterations to the replacement of sash windows with timber framed double glazed units.
30 The Paragon is included on the National Heritage List for England at Grade II (list entry number: 1394242). Nos. 28 to 32 The Paragon were re-built following enemy action in World War II. Flat 8 is situated on the third floor and extends over Nos. 29, 30 and 31.
The scheme proposes to replace the existing timber, single glazed, six over six, twentieth century sash windows, to the front elevation, with timber, six over six sash windows, without sash horns and with slimline double glazing, true glazing bars and draught proofing.
The scheme will not detract from the significance of the listed building and BPT supports the approach to improve the thermal efficiency of the windows and therefore the flat, in a sympathetic manner.
