Rosemary Lodge Veterinary Hospital, Wellsway

Rosemary Lodge Veterinary Hospital is situated within the Bath World Heritage site.

Whilst the Trust does not object to the erection of new, aluminium signage to advertise the Veterinary Hospital, we are unclear as to why the new signage is to be positioned alongside their existing counterparts. We feel that this is an excessive amount of signage that leads to a visually cluttered appearance around an otherwise attractive stone boundary wall. We also feel that there has been no suitable justification for the change in colour scheme; this will result in an incongruous visual relationship between the old and new signage where a uniformity of colour and design would be preferable.

Therefore, we would recommend a revised scheme in which the old signs are removed, and potentially a more sympathetic colour palette is used for the new signage.
