Our Response

The Trust welcomes the considerable revisions to the signage scheme and whilst we still consider acrylic materials and internal illumination to be an issue within the conservation area, we accept that this site sits within the Southgate area in which there is more tolerance for a wider range of signage options. Ideally we would like to see the internal illumination be dropped from the scheme but if not, then it should be subtle and the overall effect to be high quality. Given the adjustments to this scheme we are revising our objection to a comment and trust that the case officer will ensure the scheme’s appearance will not detract from the character of the conservation area and the nearby historic townscape.
