Erection of bike store.

Our Response

The proposed site of works is the car park between the Grade II mid-19th century Newark Works to the west and the Grade II late 19th century Camden Mill to the east, situated within the Bath conservation area and World Heritage Site. The par park site adjacent to the Bayer Building, a late 19th century brick-built corset factory, which is considered to constitute a Non-Designated Heritage Asset (NDHA).

The proposed freestanding bike store would replace an existing timber enclosure to the far north-east corner of the car park. We suggest that further details are provided regarding the proposed finish of the bike store; a natural finish that would allow the cedar slatting to weather to a more neutral finish would be more visually complementary to its setting.
