Installation of external stair and gates.

Our Response

The proposed area of development is a 19th century two-storey building within the grounds of the Grade II mid-19th century Kingswood School, situated within the Bath conservation area and World Heritage Site. It is believed that this originally functioned as the school bakery. The building is considered to be curtilage listed due to its proximity to the central Grade II school building, contemporary historic construction, and continued associated use, and is located directly adjacent to the central school building.

We suggest that further details should be provided regarding the proposed new external stair, such as its colour and finish, to enable a full assessment of the potential impact on the setting of a listed building.
