Internal alteration to the basement and ground floor.

Our Response

3 Monmouth Place is a Grade II late Georgian dwelling, with a shop on the ground floor, situated within the Bath conservation area and World Heritage site. It features as part of a small, localised cluster of pubs, restaurants, and businesses just off Lower Bristol Road.

We would note that despite the application’s current description, the proposals will result in external alterations to the principal façade of a listed building.

We would strongly recommend that detailed sections of the existing and proposed shop front window and entrance door are submitted to the LPA before this application can progress further to better assess the suitability of the proposed design and use of materials. Should any change in painted finish or colour be considered, we would suggest this is further included as part of the application.
