Proposed changes to the fenestration and access to the building.

Our Response

Everleigh House is an unlisted late 20th century office building situated in the Bath conservation area and World Heritage Site. It is situated off Argyle Street and is positioned to the rear of the Grade II late 18th century terrace 1-5 Argyle Street. Prior approval request 20/01466/ODCOU for the change of use of the upper floors from office to residential use was approved in July 2020.

The Trust notes that the proposals include “new student entrance doors and step / ramped access provided from courtyard”. We query the apparent creation of access for students when the current Change of Use approval indicates a change to C3 (dwelling houses) residential use. It would be beneficial for the officer to seek clarification of this detail in relation to the existing approved use for the site.
