External alterations to intall grey vinyl to rear of glass with white acrylic letters bonded to face of glass.

Our Response

2 Bath Street forms part of a Grade I Georgian columned terrace that contributes to both the historic Bath Street and Stall Street streetscape within the Bath conservation area and World Heritage site. The shop windows are noted to be contemporary, and therefore any alterations will not result in a loss of historic fabric.

BPT is supportive of the proposed changes to the shopfront. Whilst there is minimal change with regards to design or materials, we feel that the use of a lighter grey colour will better complement Bath Street’s bath stone ashlar façade and will be suitably recessive, consequently enhancing the appearance of a listed building and the Bath conservation area.
