94 Sydney Place forms part of a Grade I terrace situated within the Bath conservation area and World Heritage Site. It overlooks the Grade II Sydney Gardens, a late 18th century pleasure garden, and forms the setting for other Grade I monumental terraces such as 1-12 Sydney Place, and Great Pulteney Street. Sydney Place therefore contributes to the Georgian Architecture and Town Planning OUV of the World Heritage Site. This application concerns the lower ground floor, which does have some limited public visibility from the pavement.

Considering the Grade I status and significance of the building we urge the LPA to request further details, such as the measurements of the proposed glazing and fenestration, in support of the proposals. Without such details a proper assessment of the impact cannot be made.
