Our Response

Comment: whilst this application may well be acceptable in theory, we find the detail lacking and feel the application does not tell the full story, given that a belly bin and cycle stands have not been in drawn into the plan and both intrude onto the pavement and reduce the available pavement width and access in front of this business. As always the Trust is concerned regarding the use of dividers as these privatise the public realm and impact on the setting of listed buildings. No detail has been provided regarding the material or colour of the dividers or whether they will contain any signage; if agreed these must be a muted colour to respect the historic streetscape and of course any advertising should be authorised under an AR application (we note no such application has been made for the fascia signage).
