Our Response

73 Lower Bristol Road is an unlisted shop located within the Bath conservation area and World Heritage site. The area is characterised by a high volume of Victorian residential terraces in Bath stone ashlar. Currently, 73 Lower Bristol Road is vacant and in poor visual condition; its scale and high-density massing make it a significant visual element of the streetscape that therefore requires suitable maintenance to enhance the conservation area.

BPT does not object to the principle of this scheme. We support the reuse of this building which will help retain the character of this local group of shops in accordance with Policy CR4 of the Core Strategy and Placemaking Plan.
