Internal and external alterations for the restoration and reinstatement of the property into a single family home, removing low quality additions that currently divide the property into four flats.
Our Response
7 Dunsford Place forms part of a Grade II early 19th century terrace situated within the Bath conservation area and World Heritage site. It forms part of the typical Georgian vernacular along Bathwick Hill in its use of Bath stone ashlar, natural slate or clay pantiles, and timber sash windows. The rear of the terrace is clearly visible from St Ann’s Way.
The proposed window replacement with a six-over-six sash design would positively reinstate the homogeneity of joinery detailing to the principal elevation of a listed building, although we note there is a lack of information as to the age of the window indicated for replacement. We suggest window joinery details are submitted to the case officer to ensure a like-for-like sash window design and glazing bar thickness.
