Change of use to dual use as an office or residential (use class C3) for a period of ten years.

Our Response

21 Gay Street forms part of a Grade II Georgian terrace situated within the Bath conservation area and World Heritage site. It forms an important part of Bath’s streetscape which connects monumental features of the World Heritage site such as the Grade I Circus and the Grade I Queen Square.

The Trust has no comments on the proposed change of use. However, we would emphasise that despite the application stating no proposed material changes, any internal or external changes to the fabric or appearance of the building that arise from this change of use will require the submission of a relevant LBA to assess the impact to a Grade II listed building.
