Replace dormer with velux roof light.

Our Response

14 Belmont forms part of a Grade II group of twenty Georgian houses within the Bath conservation area and World Heritage site.

BPT does not object to the replacement of the existing dormer with a velux roof light. Whilst we strongly advise the use of conservation-grade roof lights, we acknowledge the location of the proposed roof light in the valley of the mansard roof where it will not be publicly visible. However, we question its viability of usage as a fire escape, and feel that other more effective measures could be implemented to ensure a low risk of fire as well as the comfort of the current residents.
