Whilst we acknowledge the submission of a short Heritage, Design and Access Statement (which fails to mention the listing description of the building) we would comment that we find both the drawings and the submitted statement to be of poor quality in both level of detail and legibility. There are no detailed drawings of the metal canopy nor any kind of method statement as to its replacement; just detailing it as copper or zinc is unacceptable in terms of a lack of detail. We would also expect to see a full stone repair and cleaning survey accompanying the application as well. The NPPF is clear the level of detail required for works to a Iisted building should be proportionate to the significance of the building (of which there is no detail); we would recommend that the case officer request clearer drawings and much more detail to ensure an informed planning decision can be made.
