Awards

The Herschel Museum of Astronomy is waiting to hear if it has won the category of Limited Budget Project of the Year at the 2019 Museums + Heritage Awards. Press Release

Both No. 1 Royal Crescent and the Museum of Bath Architecture have been awarded at least five consecutive Certificates of Excellence from Trip Advisor. These are earned by attractions (and other businesses such as restaurants and accommodation) which consistently earn 5 star reviews from visitors. Thank you to everyone who takes the time to share how much they have enjoyed their visit! Only 10% of attractions are in this club – aptly named the Hall of Fame. Here is our award and some images of the volunteers at No. 1 Royal Crescent celebrating receiving it.

No. 1 Royal Crescent won TWO awards at the SW Tourism Awards 2014-15. We won a Gold Award for Access and Inclusivity and a Highly Commended for Best Large Visitor Attraction. Please read the press release with more details here.

Gold award in the Access and Inclusivity Category

No.1 Royal Crescent was accredited as a VisitEngland Quality Assured Visitor Attraction with Gold Status in 2015. Gold Status put us in an elite category that year of just 21 (out of over 900) visitor attractions in England scoring over 90% in a mystery visit by judges. We were in very fine company alongside HM Tower of London, Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Beaulieu in Hampshire.

No. 1 Royal Crescent won a prestigious ‘Highly Commended’ certificate in the Restoration of a Georgian Building in an Urban Setting category of the Georgian Group Architectural Awards 2014. Sponsored by Savills, these prestigious annual awards are won only by teams and/or individuals who show clear vision and a commitment to recreating Georgian buildings and landscapes across the United Kingdom.

No. 1 Royal Crescent won a ‘Highly Commended’ (i.e. Runner-Up) at the 2014 Museums+Heritage Awards for Best Permanent Collection. Losing out to the new Mary Rose Museum, and beating the likes of Historic Royal Palaces and the Birmingham Science Museum, meant that we were absolutely thrilled at the recognition!
