Erection of single storey & basement rear extension, installation of 3no dormer windows and conversion of open fronted structure to pool room following removal of existing conservatory & lean-to.
Our Response The Trust has no concerns regarding the contemporary living space additions to this dwelling though we would comment that the proposed new dormers appear incongruous. Whilst the applicant is following an established approach to provide contemporary readable additions to the heritage asset there is a justification for these dormers to match those multi-pane dormers on the other elevation of the house so that they assimilate more harmoniously on the roofscape and elevation. Modern design dormer windows punctuating a traditional façade just look somewhat uncomfortable.
