There are still a few places available on our Oxford tour as detailed below.

Date: Wednesday 8 September. Dep 0830hrs – return approx 1830hrs

An opportunity to spend the day in Oxford first visiting the newly re-opened Ashmolean Museum, for a guided tour after its recent £61m transformation. The middle of the day will be free time to explore and have some lunch, and make your way across the historic city of Oxford, either via the High Street or the Meadows, for a tour of the oldest Botanic Garden in Britain – best seen in the late summer/autumn. Founded in 1621, it is claimed that nowhere else on earth are so many different plants clustered in 4.5 acres; 7,000 species in all, including a national collection of euphorbias.

Please note, this tour involves a 20-30 minute walk across Oxford. However, if necessary a taxi could be taken from the Ashmolean to the Botanic Gardens.

Cost: £34 per head to include coach, entries and guided tours of The Ashmolean and Botanic Gardens.

Refreshments: Not included. Lunch can be bought at the Ashmolean or nearby.

Strawberry Hill led by Amy Frost – FULLY BOOKED!

There will be a guided tour before lunch. After lunch, visit a permanent museum room and interpretation centre, showing the layers of the house, and enjoy a chance to explore the grounds.

Cost: £40 per head to include coach, guided tour of Strawberry Hill and coffee.

Refreshments: Coffee on arrival.
