Council adopts Core Strategy

At a Council meeting on 10 July B&NES adopted the core strategy by 40 votes to 21 with 1 abstention, taking into account the main modifications demanded by the Inspector to make it ‘sound’. This means that over the period to 2029 there will be c13,000 new dwellings in B&NES of which some 7000 in Bath. In order to achieve this B&NES are releasing land at Odd Down /South Stoke from the green belt for 300 houses. The inspector overruled the Council’s desire to release Green Belt land from Weston.
