Community Engagement

We believe that engaging with museums can have a positive and profound impact on people’s lives. We are committed to finding ways to connect more deeply with as wide a range of people as possible. Working in partnership with local communities and other cultural providers we seek to engage meaningfully through a wide range of creative projects. Catch up with our past projects or explore ongoing projects below.

Until 24 November 2019 check out our community engagement  ‘Taking on History’ exhibition which is on display at the Museum of Bath Architecture. It showcases artwork by a variety of community engagement groups responding to the inspiring stories told at each of our museums.

Recollection project

Creative workshops for people who experience memory problems

Recollection and Afternoon Tea is a free group for those experiencing memory problems and those who care for them.  It provides them with an opportunity to spend time together, enjoying museum collections as a focus for inspiration to explore, develop and express creative skills.

The group is artist led and is supported by Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. The sessions are delivered in six week blocks, alternating between No.1 Royal Crescent and The Holburne Museum.
